Drones are not in use from now but from years. Moreover, they are not deployed just for pizza deliveries and aerial video shots, but also for more important things. Like the military.
However, in this modern hi-tech era their utilization has now exceeded. So what are these drones exactly?
Drone, as a word of the English language, means a male bee. However, the term drone in our contextcan have a lot of definitions; the most preferred being “drones are unmanned ship or aircraft which can navigate beyond the line of sight or human control autonomously.” In simple words, it is an unmanned aircraft or ship guided remotely.

Keeping the maneuverability factor in mind, various composite materials are used to make it lightweight for flying. However, it is equipped with a number of smart devices like sensors, cameras, GPS (Global Positioning System), navigation systems, etc.
Their models vary with their use. For commercial use it has a simplified frame and construction that even a child can use easily. These aerial acrobats come with lots of accessories behind the plastic or metal frames. The prominent elements are motor controllers, propellers, motor frame, flight, receiver and transmitters, batteries or any other source of energy, waterproof motor frame and motor.
They are capable of performing different acrobatics in the air and have an ultra-stable flight factor. Commercial drones capable of flying out of line of sight often leads to crashing, or hurting someone.
In contrast, military drones come with great proficiency. They are more advanced and can be controlled over large distances, even hover for hours without any glitches.
UTILIZATION OF DRONES
Due to their advanced proficiency, its usage has increased in various fields. They are generally used for the below work.
Scrutiny Wind turbines, pipelines and power lines can be easily checked using a drone without any risk.
Rescue and Search For rescue and search operations these small acrobats prove equipmentpmentsto be a great asset. On incidents of fire breakouts, the amount of harmful gases can be easily measured using drones fitted with measuring equipments.
Surveillance and Security Monitoring unheard and unseen activities are easy using drones.
Aerial filmography Now you can easily have beautiful shots from higher altitudes and create videos from sky without any hassle.
Science and Research Scientists use drones to see various natural occurrences and phenomenons like volcanic eruptions, excavation of caves, etc.
Fast Delivery These acrobats can be used as a great cargo system for delivering things via air in the fastest way possible. They are quite a safe and ecofriendly delivery medium to use.
Moreover, their application also lies in the fields of agriculture, construction, engineering, Maritime, education, marketing and many other sectors. They are also easily available and can be ordered online. No prior technical knowledge is required to use it as well.
USE OF DRONES IN MILITARY
Drones comes in various sizes and shapes matching the relevancy to the kind of work. The smallest to the biggest drones are available as per the needs. The smallest ones yet are Nano drones, which are the size of insects. Mini drones, which have an electric motor are more reliable than Nano drones and can reach 50 cm in length. It is used for military spying, with the ability to reach any remote location.
Then there is the Small size drone, which ranges from 50 cm to 2 m. Medium sized drones ranging from 5 to 10 m can carry up to 200 kgs weight including people. There are even bigger ones greater than 10 m. But they are not as affordable due to their high costs.

Hence, they are mostly used in military operations as aircrafts. Equipped with missiles and weapons to overcome opposition firepower easily. The combat aircraft will be replaced with drones carrying powerful weapons. it will decrease the rate of lives lost for the military using it.
In defense drone technology, Israel is the world’s largest exporter. Drones have taken thousands of lives, including civilians. Brig. Gen. Amir Ali Hajizadeh an Iranian military commander in 2012, disclosed details of a new model of drone which can fly 2,000 kms (about 1,250 miles) – basically a long-range drone. It has the capacity to carry eight missiles.
Military UAVs are further divided into six functional categories: Target and decoy, Reconnaissance, Logistics, Research and development, Civil and Commercial. Former U.S. military UAVs are RQ-2 Pioneer, MQ-5 Hunter, RQ-14 Dragon Eye, RQ-16 T-Hawk, FQM-151 Pointer, CQ-24AK-MAX and Desert Hawk.
