Hollywood is finally breaking the silence and speaking up against the studio tycoon Harvey Weinstein. Harvey Weinstein was recently charged with sexual abuse allegations against him. Now the entire Hollywood is speaking against this magnate.
Hollywood celebs soon began to criticize Harvey Weinstein. Hollywood charm, Leonardo DiCaprio, the 42-year-old actor broke his silence declaring that there is “no excuse for sexual assault.” Leonardo has worked with Harvey in many movies. He, thoroughly condemning Harvey’s act, wrote on Twitter: “There is no excuse for sexual harassment or sexual assault – no matter who you are and no matter what profession. I applaud the strength and courage of the women who came forward and made their voices heard.”
The movement of Hollywood A-listers accusing Weinstein’s actions didn’t stop and continued with many others Hollywood actors condemning his actions.
Tom Hanks and Ryan Gosling too condemned Harvey Weinstein thoroughly. Hanks, while talking to the prominent US daily, said “being rich and famous and powerful”, is no reason to do something as criticizing as sexual assault.
He also said, “Just because you’re rich and famous and powerful doesn’t mean you aren’t in some ways a big fat a**. Excuse me, take away fat. But I’m not, you know, I’m not the first person to say Harvey’s a bit of an a**. Poor Harvey – I’m not going to say poor Harvey, Jesus. Isn’t it kind of amazing that it took this long? I’m reading it and I’m thinking – You can’t do that to Ashley Judd! Hey, I like her. Don’t do that. That ain’t fair. Not her, come on. Come on.”
Alyssa Milano another prominent Hollywood figure too came in front and condemned Harvey’s act. She chose Twitter to raise her voice against this gruesome act. She requested all the women who have ever been sexually assaulted in their life to post “Me too” on their twitter account. The initiative soon took on by storm and spread like wildfire over various other social media as well.
